long weekend.

finally a long weekend has arrived! the beard and i decided to take my good old friend daren on a bike ride around stanley park followed by a day trip to bowen island. the beard and i had never been to bowen, so we took a long bus ride out to the ferry and aboard we were. the ferry was gorgeous, even with my chronic motion sickness (those who know me know how terrible i am on anything that moves!). once we got there we grabbed a bite to eat, and went on an adventure walk along the lake. it was kind of perfect. as was the pizza and beer we downed at the end of the day. we thought it was well deserved.

 the best part about spring in vancouver is 1st. sunshine! it's a pretty rare thing here so when we've got it we take it. 2nd. are the flowers. oh glorious flowers, they're everywhere, and the city looks it's best in bloom, let me tell you. as the beard and i had a friend in town, we decided to take him out on foot to see some pretty beautiful vancouver places. we started off with a stop at queen elizabeth park, main streets  foundation for a vegan bite to eat and we finished the day off with a walk along the sea wall into english bay, sitting on logs watching the sun gone down and a seal playing in the distance. aww vancouver, you're so beautiful!

today was the perfect spring day. the sun was out bright, the temperature was just right, and lucky for the beard and i we had a friend in town. well he'll be in town for a little while visiting us, but today was our first adventure day together. we started by heading out to granville island to pick up some fresh local organic produce (the beard and i are newly vegan, so our produce run is essential). then we headed on a journey out to lighhouse park in west vancouver. it was gorgeous! the beard and i have been a few times, but today was exceptional. the weather couldn't have been better, either could the company.

cocktails.

last saturday night the beard and I went out with some friends for some much needed cocktails. we went to a great place called the diamond, we had heard amazing things about it but had never ventured out there until now. after a few too many... (my favourite was the donatella) we then headed out to see my 'me-he-can' friend alonso to say farewell as he headed back to his homeland.
